I needed help with a business transaction and these sad (sad is old English for solid) irons were to show my appreciation for all the help. Originally invented in China, they were used in Europe and America from the 17th century through the late 1800’s.
I don’t have any previous photos of the irons but they were in “sad” shape. I cleaned them up and made a little stand made from a solid piece of lemon wood with canary wood inlay to display them.
She liked them.
