This butcher block had been used for many years and along the way a large crack formed in the middle making it a place to set your grocery bags instead of being used for its intended purpose.
I removed the crack and replaced it with the closest match I had on hand, mahogany. It was stripped to bare wood, sanded, and finished with cutting board oil on the surface and oil and wax for the rest. The dowels in the wheels were replaced and leather added to keep them from scuffing up any floors.
It came out rather nice…
